The nearest city to Shannon Airport is Limerick city which is about twenty seven kilometres away. The town of Ennis in County Clare is twenty five kilometres away.
Shannon is Ireland’s 2nd busiest airport though some will say that Cork Airport has overtaken it in recent years. There are regular flights to London, Paris and many other top European destinations as well locations in the USA. Shannon is an ideal starting point if you want to skip the city and get straight to the heart of Ireland.
